Sourced from Patrick's Wrattonbully vineyards, this is a big muscular red that is not ready to settle down just yet. I had this open for a couple of hours before getting to it and it didn't seem to budge all that much. Like 'em big? Here's your weapon.
Black fruits, coffee liqueur, handfuls of cedar come rushing. Seeing 28 months in new and second use American oak, it's dense, dark and goes deep - very deep. Dark chocolate gets its moment to shine late with a fine hum of spices. There is plenty of comfort here, don't worry about that. It's fire pit wine on a cool night. Fine dusty tannins coat the mouth drying out ever so slowly before urging for another sip. It's not hard to oblige. A keeper, longevity is in its veins.
