Tyrrell's HVD Chardonnay 2021

These are the oldest Chardonnay vines in the world they say, right here in the Hunter Valley - Australia's longest continuous wine producing region. This is an absolute glamour. Chardonnay fans rejoice.

Some knowledge I acquired from the great Brian McGuigan when tasting this Chardonnay was that HVD stands for Hunter Valley Distillery - these vines were initially planted to make spirit back in the day. There you go...

Oozing all levels of sexy complexity, this is lean and precise with enough depth to satisfy. It's hard not to adore its curves and its clean lines. Beautifully balanced, it dances through the mouth. Of the seven Chardonnays tasted at the Hunter Valley Legend Awards famil, this was hands down the best of the lot. Just magic.
