The Tuerong single vineyard Pinot Noir is normally the boss but not in 2021. North One stakes a strong claim and deservedly so. Formerly known as 'Red Hill', North One is the block that sits beside The Eleven Chardonnay block. This release has levelled up on 2020.
Delicate, refined, this is a pure expression of Mornington Peninsula Pinot Noir. You get a sense it's floating on a cloud. Red apples and red cherries, the longer it sits the more you see its savoury appeal. Some mushrooms compost, earthiness, dried leaves and undergrowth. A day on and some cedar emerges. It's all class and you won't be disappointed - does Montalto Pinot ever disappoint?
Drink to eight years.
