Light and vibey, this is an easy-drinking Grenache with its dancing shoes on.
It was great to compare this McLaren Vale Grenache alongside its Barossa sibling. Although from different fruit sources, the same winemaking techniques were used.
Red frogs and raspberry lollies, there is a bit of that confection element. Fruit bun spices loom large and gain momentum moving to cinnamon and brown spices. There's an earthiness with a silty like tannin. It's an easy drink and one that will take a slight chill in warmer months. The bottle choice is curious too - it reminds me of the old Boronia Marsala bottle.
All up, it's a reliable go-to for those gatherings where the food is generous and so is the chat.
Drink to three years.
