If Montepulciano translates to "yummo" then the crew at FU Manchu and Dr Plonk have nailed the brief. Yikes! This is a great slurp.
Blackberries are the hero but the sleek and silky dark fruit feels hook you in. Some blueberry paste, licorice and spiced dark cherries weave a seductive and moreish web. Baking spices curl around the mouth harpooning you towards the sign that says "give me more." Admittedly, it's hard to resist the urge, and much like the others in this FU Manchu range, the desire to reach for another pour is high.
Made with minimal intervention, the wines are unfined and unfiltered.
This is hands down a great expression of the variety. Don't rule out giving it a slight chill either.
Drink to three years.
