A blend of all the white varieties on the Soumah property, Viognier, Savagnin, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay come together to deliver a textural and thought provoking white.
Fermented separately and then blended, the Chardonnay and Viognier saw old French oak while the remainder was fermented in stainless steel.
The Viognier really stands out with fresh apricots and apricot nectar racing to greet you. The creaminess from time in oak is evident showing some marzipan and whipped butter. Ginger spices land on the mid-palate and are flanked by lemon juice and pears. That spice refuses to release its grip and clutches to a long finish - respect. A lemony twist on exit is a neat touch too. This is lunchtime drinking done well.
