What a joy it is to go back in time and revisit a wine previously sampled and see where its sits after some bottle age. The shape and presence are quite intriguing and impressive all at the same time. A brilliant example of aged Shiraz.
Wonderfully savoury, those robust Mudgee tannins have softened as you would expect given the time it has been tucked away. There is still ample spice. Coupled with the structure, this will sing proudly for some time yet. Dark plum fruit is still prominent but the delicate dried herbs, licorice, lacy pan juices and easy going leathery touch make for a wine of sheer delight. One of those wines to sip slow and embrace, it's just brilliant.
