Predominantly from 100 year old vines with some help from their 80 year old siblings, this is a ripping Shiraz from Redman Wines.
Fabulous in the glass now after a few swirls, it sees 18 months in French oak. As Danny Redman says, this has time to kill with a long future ahead.
Cloves, dark chocolate, some cedar and black fruits, some good acid detail shows the promise that Redman holds for this wine. A little meaty with sheets of pan juices rippling through, baked raspberries shine with more time in the glass. Spices run for days leaving long tingles on a persistent finish. Give it a good decant to have now and you'll be rewarded handsomely. Smart gear.
