Head Old Vine Grenache 2023

Savoury and earthy, this Head Wines Grenache from 70+ year old vines is a classy package and smack bang in the zone.

It speaks of clones planted for fortified wine, which is no surprise, as that was the origin of many Barossa Grenache plantings. Silky and slurpable, squishy raspberries, strawberries and cherry pips are all the rage with attractive aromas of red petals. A fine flicker of dark chocolate hums along in the background as ripples of earthiness keep a neat tempo. Black tea and fine silt-like tannins are coupled with a long tail of fine spices on an alluring finish that calls you back time and again. Fantastic drinking, this is a ripper.
