For $35, this Mt Bera Wild & Free Pinot Noir from the Adelaide Hills is a very tidy example for those who enjoy wines with dark fruit flavours.
Quite a savoury wine, despite only 10% whole bunches being used, their impact is clear. Black tea makes the first impression with dark plums, black cherries and strawberries slotting in behind. A faint suggestion of orange peel, dried herbs and woodsy spices drives long. Those spices are firm as are the voluminous tannins which suggest a little more bottle age will be of benefit.
