I haven't seen a Pinot Noir from Wild Games Wines previously. Sourced from Mt Gambier, south of their Coonawarra home, this delivers some pleasing varietal characteristics.

Firm and tense to taste, the fruit profile is driven by dark plums and dark cherry fruit with some dark chocolate and faint char nuances. The longer it sits, the savoury concentration ensures it has the upper hand and steals the limelight. Delicate ripples of baking spices and barbecue rub spices seize control of the sustained finish. It's a wine that will rise up with food by its side.
