Three Dark Horses Grenache 2022

From 70-year-old dry-grown bush vines comes this sweet-fruited, juicy Grenache.

It's worth noting that the website says the vines are 80 years old but the bottle says 70. A little more precision with the detail would be handy...

Squishy raspberries and strawberries steal the limelight and bound along in a carefree manner. Dried rose petals, rosehip, glace cherries and some dark chocolate add further detail. Time in the glass delivers a little cherry ripe appeal. The fine tannins have me leaning in and they up the wine's street cred. Fruit sweetness can be seen as a detractor at times, but everything is in sync here. It's a mighty fine drink and one that will even take a chill in warmer months. For 28 bucks, this is a handy buy.

Drink to five years.
