Don't tell me you can't drink red wine in summer. Give this Pikes Luccio Novello a chill and you're in business.
A dancy and joyous red, it's a blend of Montepulciano and Nero d'Avola (60/40) made for immediate enjoyment. As I swirl the glass and take a sip, it reminds me of those delicious Amarena cherries from Italy. I must admit, I came close to setting a world record for the amount of Amarena gelato consumed by one person a few months ago while in Italy. I digress...
Those abundant dark cherries steal the limelight with red plums, blackcurrants and blackberries staking a claim for your attention. A hint of choc mint slides in with soft tannins drying out ever so slowly. A festive drink with its curvy and shapely presence, pour generously in the glasses of those who love to laugh out loud with shaslicks on the barbecue.
