Of the Oakridge Vineyard Series Pinot Noirs, this Willowlake is my pick. Whoa, this is a wine to cherish.
An abundance of fruit leaps from the glass seeking an embrace. Cherries, cranberries, pomegranate and rhubarb are silky and composed. Twigs and tea tree, along with orange peel, have been a consistent note in Hazeldene and Henk, and they are here too. A deft touch of meatiness adds further complexity, but there is a flex which I find endearing. Fine spices curl around the palate with a dusty finish that is persistent and seemingly never-ending. Excellent stuff.
