Corryton Burge Eden Valley Riesling 2026

This Adelaide Hills Riesling from Corryton Burge takes an interesting turn. It seems more developed than expected, showing a little extra maturity from the outset rather than the youthful, razor-edged profile often associated with the variety.

Honeyed tones, golden apple and pear juice lead the way, joined by a flicker of old school lemonade. Bickford's lime cordial, lime pith and underripe green apple then bring a welcome injection of freshness and varietal character. The palate is where things really tighten up, with the acidity throwing a lasso before slowly tightening its grip towards the finish. A chalky texture ripples through the palate, adding another layer and giving the wine some pleasing shape beneath the fruit. It goes okay, but for the money, I'd prefer others.
