This is one of those wines where I wish my tasting note could be as simple as, "Excellent - just buy it."
I had the pleasure of having lunch with winemaker Samantha Connew two weeks ago in the Hunter Valley. It was a hot and muggy Pokolbin day, and Sam's words summed up her Riesling perfectly - it's sessional. And that it is. Between three of us the bottle didn't last long at all.
It's loaded with green apples and a lemony zip. An off dry style, there is a sweetness tease before the back palate slowly dries out - perfectly balanced. A tantalising length just sits and seems to be in a happy place without wanting to move on. A brilliant follow up to the mighty impressive 2013 debut.

Maybe I should have just said it... Excellent, just buy it!
