2014 was the start of the Gamay journey at Punt Road. 50/50 ferments of 100% whole berry carbonic maceration and 100% whole bunch took place before six months in old oak to cool its heels. The result is wine with the slurp factor cranked high.
The fruit playfully swans about highlighted by freeze-dried strawberries, baked raspberries plus a touch of blackcurrant. Earthy and mushroom characters play the savoury card. A few swirls of the glass and juniper berries stand tall too. Fine spices are dusted through the mouth sitting on an incredibly long finish. Crazy delish!
Drink now to five years.
