I only recently reviewed the Jericho Bracken Vineyard Grenache 2022, and this 2023 has shown some excellent consistency with the previous release. A beautiful savoury wine, it gets a big tick from me.
From vines planted in 1955, it was made with 25% whole bunches and was wild yeast fermented before seeing twelve months in seasoned French oak.
Scents of black tea leaves, thyme and purple flowers delight the senses. Mulberries, strawberries and a shimmer of blackberries add detail through the mid-palate with a delightful orange peel surge. Sandy tannins add a keen moreishness to a Grenache that has complexity and plenty of flavour to dive into.
Drink to eight years.
