Woah! This is one out of the box. The longer it was open the more I leaned in to this Bimbadgen Limited Release Sangiovese. A more than approachable red wine with an attractive varietal presence, this is very well done.
Bright and vibrant cherry fruit is the order of the day with a decent rush of red plums. A whisper of pan juice meatiness, cherry pips and a faint nod to the Hunter soils with a ripple of red earthiness add layers of interest. Red apple acidity flies the varietal flag with a blanket of fine spices seeing out a drying finish. Give it a little decant to see it at its best. Great stuff from the team at Bimbadgen.
Drink to five years.
