J and J Wines Organic Reserve Shiraz 2022

Don't queue Sade's song Shy Guy, coz this is not. A muscular, large-framed Shiraz from J&J Wines, find a slab of protein to help this Reserve 2022 on its way.

It's big and ripe, but the thunderous entry pulls up short and doesn't flow through to the back palate as much as I would have hoped.

Black plums, sweet baked plums and dark berries dominate the fruit profile with Kirsch, cloves and cedar having a large input too. Dark chocolate torte, baking spices and a whisper of caramel surge along. All that and then the momentum cuts short. Interesting... Given the choice in the range, I'd grab an Anniversery Shiraz first.

Drink to eight years.
