Lost Buoy GSM 2025

This GSM from Lost Buoy Wines is a wonderful reminder that sometimes the blend is greater than the sum of its parts. An excellent wine, resisting a top-up is futile.

Glistening in the glass, it carries itself with a joyous ease that's hard to resist. In fact, compared to its Grenache sibling, the edges feel softer and more relaxed, making for remarkably approachable drinking. Juicy raspberries, blueberries and red currants tumble across the palate with flashes of mulberry adding extra interest. Savoury notes of cured meats and barbecue rub spices weave through the fruit profile bringing complexity without slowing the wine's momentum. Smooth lines deliver immediate comfort while a streak of edgy spice keeps everything lively and engaging. The longer it's open, the more a raspberry coulis note emerges, and I'm completely here for it. This is the sort of wine you keep returning to without thinking. In fact, the mere fact I kept coming back to it probably warrants another point. Done! Thoroughly enjoyable, it's great stuff. Go here.
