A little like driving with a flat tyre... I felt let down.
Good aromas set it up well, but the follow through wasn't there. I had the impression it was weighed down rather than living to excite.
Matured in a French and American oak (55/45), there's plenty of dark fruit and vanilla aromas. Punchy plum adds some guts but not in a brutish sense. The mid palate didn't stick as much as I would have liked - some brightish acidity wrestles away the balance factor. Perhaps another year or two and things would be in better nick.
85/100 - For now, I'd prefer others.
