Pizzini Nonna Gisella Sangiovese 2015

The back label says 'Nonna was strong, warm and loving' - you get a sense of the person through this wine, it's such an approachable and comforting style and I reckon I could drink gallons of the stuff. Deliciously medium bodied, it's juicy and screams for a gathering of family and friends.

Dark cherries, red plums and red berries, a shimmer of peppery spice right up the middle of the palate plus a lick of chocolate with an ever so slight dry herb on the flank. Long and moreish, youthful acidity cuts a neat path. Damn tasty wine - lick the lips sorta stuff. 50/50 stainless steel and oak (10% new) contributing to the yum factor. Pleasure comes here in buckets.

Drink now and over the next few years with generous pours.
