Classic Hunter Shiraz. Give it a decant and sail away...
The fruit was hand picked off a vineyard planted in the 1960's, 30% new oak was used for 16 months.
Take a whiff: red licorice, cherry ripe slice, red earth, pomegranate, roasted meat, pretty red flowers - lots happening.
It tastes of plums, stewed fruit and lashings of dark chocolate. Medium bodied, there's good depth too. Clove and sandalwood wash up later - a neat touch. A wine which is fine and smooth but swims deep.
