Granite Belt Merlot with whiffs of cherry ripe.
A little more time in the glass and aromas of green stems are prominent. It's a fair drink but Merlot across the board lacks excitement in many cases and this can be added to that pile. Some chocolate and red fruit is supported by dark plums. I like that cherry ripe appeal though. Peppery spice frames the finish leaving the mouth dry with brick dust tannins.
Drink now to three years.
