This glides through the mouth effortlessly. Some weight gathers momentum but it's well balanced. There's oak at play but not to be outdone by the generous dark fruit and mulberries on show. Scents of smoked meats, baking spices with dense dark plums adding to the layers of fruit. A sprinkle of savoury herbs with a deft touch of aniseed rearing its head late. Soft acidity and fine tannins lead to a persistent yet elegant finish. Cool nights by the fire are all sorted.
