From the only Garganega planting in the Hunter Valley, the vineyard was planted in 2016 and this release is the first crop off it.
This wine is tight with high acidity. It comes across like a youthful Semillon in some respects. Pretty stonefruit, green apple peel and white flower aromas early. Picked at 11.5 baume, the aim was to deliver a crisp dry white. Some impressive width through the mouth before it throws a lasso around the palate when the acid reins it in and pulls tight leaving a green apple crunch. Tempura prawns or fish and chips by the water would be the go.
