A beautiful wine. Pretty scents of dried red flowers and rosella get the juices flowing.
Red fruits are the driving force behind this wine. Raspberries and raspberry coulis are prominent early and I'd be curious to see how things look after a couple of years bottle age. And bottle age would be best suited here I feel. Quite energetic and lively, the fruit dances about. Over a few days of tasting it dropped its guard and relaxed. A dab of fruit sweetness was still present on day three but the oak played a stronger hand with aniseed stepping forward as well. A plummy drive was more prominent too. Dusty dried herbs make a play with soft and drying tannins calling for your attention. This will improve with time, but given the choice between this Shiraz and the Richardson Cabernet, I'd easily head this way.
