I've seen a lot of the wines from Angullong over the years but this is the first time I've received a sample of their Merlot. Grown at 600 metres above, this is a delightfully easy drinking wine. There's no fuss or pretentiousness here, just a solid quality red. And isn't that what you just want sometimes?
Dark berry and plums fruits, cigar box and dried herbs all make a play for your attention. The fruit is plump with a good length and ample width through the mouth. An easy go-to.
Drink to five years.
