What's there to do at the airport when your flight is delayed by an hour? That's right, find the bar. But all bars have generic wines overtaken by big companies so I found a book shop with a modest list different from the rest. I needed something to wash down my Cherry Ripe Slice and gave this a crack.
It's been a long time between drinks when it comes to the Sticks label. This is a simple take on cool climate Cabernet. There's not a lot of weight nor depth but this fills the need for those in seek of an easy drink with little fuss.
The fruit thins out mid palate - the donut wine at its stereotypical best. Spice flanks the earthy and dark plums, blackberry and cassis offered. A reasonable finish, the job gets done.
Drink now to five years.
