A white with soul. Some lip smacking textural appeal gets the juices flowing.
One of those wines which needs to enjoyed at the right temperature. Serve too cold and it will clam up and you won't see it's beauty.
A blend of Semillon and Gewurztraminer from the Hunter Valley (60/27) with the remaining portion of Riesling coming from the famed Four Winds Vineyard in Canberra.
Some of the Semillon (30%) saw skin contact and was left to mature for 142 days.
A bright glow of morning sunrise in the glass, peach pie, canned apricot and rose water aromas rise up. Slivers of ginger and fine cinnamon spices tickle the palate. There's enough weight to keep you enthused and curious but not too much to turn you away. The lingering and sustained finish is worth applauding with a citrusy twist at the death. Classy stuff and well made.
Drink to five years.
