That ochre coloured label gets me every time - it's so Australian and speaks of our country's soils in so many ways. A classic label on a classic Coonawarra Cabernet.
This is a wine that needs time to mesh and that was proven over a few days. A Cabernet for later, not now, it is quite savoury driven with roast pepper and cut capsicum highlights and a rustic and earthy edge. Those cigar box and dried herb characters reach out early and stay the distance. Black fruits and cassis build some momentum with cloves, some eucalypt and a subtle mintiness tucking in behind. This will develop nicely - if you can hold out.
