A Roussanne that has an absorbing presence as it rolls through the mouth with absolute ease. Well played here from Yelland & Papps - the masters of the variety in Australia.
An indulgent opening of yellow stonefruits, honeyed tones, scents of honey puffs and mandarin peel greet you. A flash of diluted orange juice, delicate spices, apricot kernel slide in playing a secondary role. Softly textured with an almond meal and cashew feel, preserved lemon and a lick of sourdough add complexity. There is persistence that covers the width of the mouth. Seemingly endless and stretching for the horizon, Roussannes like this are all autumnal pleasure and then some.
Drink to five years.
