It's great to see two Grenache wines by the same maker side by side with the only difference being the fruit origin. This Barossa Grenache is darker in the glass than its McLaren Vale sibling.
More earthy, the fruit concentration is evident. On the darker fruit side of the ledger, think berry basket and red plums. Like the McLaren Vale take, there is some spice but it's more tempered here. If anything, there is a little more personality in the Vale example. Still, this is an easy, respectable medium bodied drink hanging out for a snag on bread or a burger.
Drink to three years.
