Jansz's Late Disgorged Vintage Cuvée 2014 has been held back to age on lees for an extra four years. The added complexity that the additional time has given this wonderful sparkling is telling. It's just another example of why consumers should drink more Australian sparkling rather than French imports.
A fine bead races through the glass. Pale straw in appearance, delicious pastry and brioche are the hallmarks of that time on less. Add some lemon juice and preserved lemons, there is an almond meal and cashew nuttiness riding through the mid-palate. A lick of red apple sneaks in just before the curtain is drawn on a long and moreish finish. Great stuff.
