A single vineyard Shiraz from Hart & Hunter that needs a decant or a little time tucked away. Do this and you'll be rewarded handsomely.
On opening, I must admit, it wasn't where I thought it would be. I threw the cap back on and came back the next day and again the next day and suddenly, voila, we have a different wine!
Medium-bodied, it glides through highlighted by dark plums, dark cherries, a flash of blackberry and some mocha. A whiff of cherry liqueur and violets add pleasure factor too. Woodsy spices, some puffs of red earth and cinnamon spice curl up on a persistent finish - yes! Slot this into that 'special occasion' category for the years ahead.
