Don't tell me that white wines are only for the warmer months when you can pour this Head Wines Les Blancs blended delight into your glass and enjoy a winter sunset. Woah!
From 40 year old Grenache Blanc vines, it saw nine months on lees in seasoned French oak. Well made, the flavour profile draws a long bow and stretches the length of the runway and back again. White fleshed peaches, pears, fresh apricots, lemon juice and zest plus a moreish cannoli pastry feel has me coming back time after time. Whole bunch pressed, almond meal shows its hand contributing a delicate nuttiness and a fine textural feel that is feathered throughout adding detail with the finest whisper of ginger spice sending you on your way. Delightful stuff and an easy recommendation for those who enjoy depth and texture in their whites.
