Splash this in your glass and it is easy to see how this wine swept the floor at the Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show. Fragrant, silky and with plenty of fruit to charm, this is an excellent expression of Montepulciano.
Dark cherries, baked blueberries and licorice light the way. An ever so subtle spice chimes in late with a superfine powdery tannin and it's that powdery tannin structure that oozes class. Drying out ever so slowly, you get a sense they are very delicate pillows of pleasure. Dark chocolate and some dried herb peek their heads up late but that tannin profile is what I'm here for - absolutely glorious.
