This Serafino Reserve Grenache 2022 would have a sore back from carting around a hefty amount of silverware. Worthy of such praise, this is a sublime example of Grenache.
In its prime now, and if you can get your hands on some, run to it. A little Google search netted a very handy price from an independent online store - I'll leave the rest to you.
Incredible aromas of purple flowers, lavender and even a hint of violets open proceedings. It's glossy and super pretty, svelte and delicately spiced. A flicker of char tries to emerge but the red fruit, red cherries, boysenberry and mulberry drive is silky, ridiculously addictive and dangerously slurpable. Medium-bodied in all its glory, a little red apple raises its head on close. It's hard to ignore the shape and flow of this wine. Give me it all!
Drink to five years.
