Sourced from a blend of estate Shiraz blocks across the certified organic Hayes Family Wines Stone Well vineyard and matured for 24 months in a mix of new and seasoned French oak, this is a beautifully rounded and approachable expression.
Generous blackberry fruit and dense plums provide plenty of flavour, while ripples of savoury complexity, think beef stock, soy, liquorice and earthy nuances, build layers of interest. Dark chocolate and chocolate brownie notes add richness without overwhelming the fruit. Softer, rounded edges make it immediately appealing, yet there's still a fine, sleek line running through the palate that keeps everything in balance. Give it some air and it opens beautifully, revealing greater harmony and depth. Delicious now, but it possesses all the hallmarks of a Barossa Shiraz that will continue to evolve gracefully with further bottle age.
