There's plenty of personality here, with the cool climate character of Orange clearly on display.
Earthy and briar-driven from the outset, it offers a savoury perfume of twigs, undergrowth and mushroom compost before lifted dark fruit begins to emerge. Dark cherries and plums sit at the core, while layers of exotic and woodsy spices build complexity around the fruit. It's initially a little reserved, so give it time to open and watch it gradually find its stride. The reward is a beautifully persistent finish, leaving those savoury and spicy notes lingering. All up, it's a solid expression of Pinot Noir from Orange.
