Yellow flowers and orange zest provide the aromatic introduction, with nougat and almond meal adding a gentle savoury richness.
There’s yellow and white stone fruit trying to emerge, although the Roussanne tends to run over the top, bringing flashes of apricot kernel and canned apricot along with it.
The palate is richer and more rounded in style, wrapped in a blanket of ginger spice. The acidity, however, is quite firm initially, giving the wine a more assertive edge through the finish.
There’s a definite firmness here, and I’d resist the temptation to serve this too cold.
