It needs time to settle, mind you. On day three, it found its stride with black fruit, dense plums and mocha notes shining through with greater clarity and depth.
There’s plenty of substance here, but the Cabernet and Shiraz still draw a line between themselves. On opening, they haven’t quite fused together as seamlessly as hoped, leaving a little separation through the palate.
Give it time, though, and there’s every chance those edges will soften and fuse into one another. There is no doubting the age potential and patience here will serve you best.
