The current release is the 2016 but I was sent the 2015. I'm not sure what's going on there but I'm happy to have a look much the same. Grenache from Mudgee. As common as Yarra Valley Durif I suppose.
A world away from the McLaren Vale and Barossa types, cool climate Grenache coming at ya.
Dried red flowers, dried leaves, pan juices and stock. You get a sense that it is on the lighter side of medium bodied but there's some guts to fill it out out. Savoury highlights are tightly coiled around the mouth. Fine dusty tannins are distributed as though on paint roller - slowly covering the territory from front to back in one motion. Nice.
Serve with a slight chill for best results.
Drink now to five years.
