Straight off the bottling line, this Syrah comes across more as a Shiraz for mine.
Black berries and dark plum fruit plus touches of sarsaparilla and clove. Black pepper is scattered about but it's the firm feels and tension through the mouth that I feel has it sitting more on the Shiraz spectrum than the delicate Syrah style. A blanket of cocoa tannins to close leaves the mouth drying and puckering. A good drink no less.
