A soft and fine Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir from Tomich.
Curiously, I poured this and initially thought it was a Sangiovese given the weight. Quite a spicy Pinot, the fruit is swamped by star anise, white pepper, dried herbs and some mushroom compost. Sift a little deeper to reveal red plums and red berries. Interestingly, the finish is lighter than it starts with those spices lingering much longer than expected. A wine that will age well I suspect, I suggest giving it a couple of years to see it at its best.
