With a little more sophistication than the entry-level wine, this Angullong Fossil Hill is a clever expression of cool climate Chardonnay.
White nectarine leads the charge but the lean profile is what hooks me in. The fruit is balanced well and the neat touch of oak nails the brief. Wisps of ginger spice are dusted on the flank with lemon rind and lemon juice lingering. Some raw cashews show their hand late with a ruby grapefruit tang. Quite delicious. Great stuff.
