Thomas Wines Kiss Shiraz 2022

The flagship of the Thomas Wines range, the Kiss seems to gain a legion of fans each year. Dark, dense and incredibly elegant, it's easy to see how this can be so. This is an absolute belter once again.

From vines planted in 1969, Thommo says the Kiss is quite introverted compared to its Dam Block sibling that lies nearby which is quite the opposite.

Measured and extremely pleasurable, the red soils really do the talking and make the fruit sing. Purple and blueberry fruit is ripe and alive delivering a wine with superb structural complexity. Char, smoked meat and a fine dusting of pepper all fold into one another with ease. The elegance and depth are in complete unison and that is what harpoons this wine into prominence.

There are several Hunter Valley Shiraz wines that are two and three times the price, and this is one of two at this price point that sails beyond those (in my opinion) in the value stakes. Go here and tuck some away.
