A 50/50 Hunter Valley Rosé made with Shiraz and Tempranillo.
Four hours on skins for the Shiraz and six for the Tempranillo, barrel fermented and six months in seven year old Hungarian oak.
Pretty aromas but flat on its feet when the dance moves are needed. Strawberries, spices, hibiscus. Spiced red currants and an earthy drive hit early. Super dry, savoury flecks push through but the fruit seems to dissolve all too quickly leaving the mouth watery with a spicy finish.
Not for me but others will gravitate to it.
