Irrewarra is an Aboriginal word meaning 'long spear throw'.
This label comes from the hands of Nick Farr and I was thrilled when he got in touch asking if I'd like a sample. This is a peach.
Nick came across this vineyard 150km south west of Melbourne which was planted in 2001. It fell into disrepair and he took over in 2012.
Immerse yourself in aromas of Bickford's lime cordial and a touch of preserved lemon matched by fistfuls of citrus goodness and subtle honeyed tones.
It's delicate yet plentiful filling the mouth with elegance. Think super fine minerality and yellow peach kisses. It's long and engaging with the fruit playing a handsome beat. Chalky feels to close.
I feel classy drinking this. A superb wine.
Drink now to five years.
